Miss Farrell ~ Partnership Head Teacher
Miss Farrell joined our team in January 2016. Prior to this she had 20 years teaching experience at Lochside Primary School in Dumfries where she taught across all stages within the school. Miss Farrell loves teaching and working with children and feels every child should have fun whilst they are learning.
At home Miss Farrell enjoys spending time with her family and is kept busy with her twins Gracie and Robbie. She loves to travel during her holidays and enjoys relaxing in the sun.
Mrs Pringle - P1-4 Class Teacher/Principle Teacher
Mrs Pringle has taught at Nethermill since 1993! She is Principle Teacher and should be the contact person when Miss Farrell is not in school. She has taught in Ayrshire and Annan and at an international school in Spain for 10 years. Mrs Pringle thinks teaching is so special because children are all so different, she enjoys discovering their talents, abilities and personalities, but her favourite thing is that the children make her laugh! Mrs Pringle says that it is the children and their families that make Nethermill so special and that the staff make a good team. She also enjoys our setting, saying she never tires of driving to work!
Outside of school, Mrs Pringle likes eating out with friends, or cooking, but says she never sticks to recipes! She enjoys travelling, especially to warm places. She also enjoys painting and has some of her paintings on her wall at home.
Mrs McCrone P5-7 Teacher (Job-Share)
Mrs McCrone joined our staff in August 2011 and is teaching P4-7 2.5 days per week (Tuesday/Wednesday and every second Thursday) and teaches in the Primary 1-3 class on those Thursdays.
She taught Primary 6-7 at Georgetown Primary School before coming to Nethermill and thoroughly enjoyed her time there. Mrs McCrone is looking forward to working with the children in both classes, as when she was at University, her placements were in a Nursery and a Primary 2 class and P6/7 class at Georgetown in her probationary year. She likes to help and encourage the children in her classes to be involved in active learning and to take responsibilty for their own learning.
Outisde of school Mrs McCrone became a parent in October 2011 and had a second daughter in July 2014. She loves that she can work part-time so she can spend precious time with her daughters Eva and Beth. She also enjoys going walking with her mother, Mrs Ramsay. She also likes socialising with her friends and going on holidays abroad with her family.
Miss Robertson P5-7 Teacher (Job-Share)
Miss Robertson joined Nethermill this year as a probationer teacher in the P5-7 class. She is really enjoying her time at Nethermill. Miss Robertson is from Dumfri4s but studied in Glasgow and is very happy to be back at home and feels really lucky to have Nethermill as her first school. Miss Robertson is really excited to work with all the lovely children, staff and community at Nethermill who have made her feel so welcome.
She loves working with children, seeing them enjoying their learning and involving children at all stages of their learning as she feels she can really learn from them as well!
During summer she has worked teaching English as a foreign language, taking children on lots of trips and loves languages and exploring.
Outside of school Miss Robertson loves baking, running, taking her wee dog on walks and spending time with her friends and family.
Mrs. Ramsay is our School Administrator
Mrs. Ramsay has worked at Nethermill since 1997. Before working here, she worked at Psychological Services as secretary to the Principal Psychologist.
Mrs. Ramsay says that the children at Nethermill are so open, courteous and friendly. She feels that she learns as much from them as they do from her! She believes that working at Nethermill is great because she feels part of a team and that she is appreciated by staff and pupils, and enjoys being able to work with the children.
Outside of school Mrs. Ramsay became a grandparent in October 2011, then again in July 2014 and loves looking after her granddaughters when her daugher works here at Nethermill School. She also enjoys being with her family and loves reading, walking and cycling.
Mrs Bell joined our staff in August 2014 as Classroom Assistant.
She is also Classroom Assistant at Johnstonebridge Primary and has been there since 2007. Mrs Bell feels that she will enjoy working at Nethermill as she has found the children friendly and fun. The staff have been so welcoming and she already feels like part of the team.
Outside of school, Mrs Bell loves to watch her two sons play football for their respective teams and is a huge Queen of the South supporter. She enjoys reading and can often be found searching for new art and craft ideas!
Mrs Borthwick, Learning Assistant ~ works in both classes
Mrs Borthwick joined our staff in August 2017 as a Learning Assistant. She is also a Learning Assistant at Applegarth and Hutton Primaries and has worked previously at Lockerbie, Moffat and Beattock Primaries since 2007.
Mrs Borthwick has found the staff, children and parents very welcoming at Nethermill and is looking forward to getting to know everybody.
Outside school Mrs Borthwick enjoys spending time with her family and walking her dog Benji! She also volunteers at Moffat Youth Theatre and loves going on holiday.
