School Meals / Snacks
We are fortunate to still be able to offer school meals prepared freshly each day by our cook Mrs. Gail Myatt. Menus are created by the council to offer a healthy balanced diet. From January 2015, pupils in P1-3 are now entitled to free school meals, for other pupils School lunches cost £1.80 per day, £9.00 per week. Children can also pay 16p per day, 80p per week to receive milk. Mrs. Myatt is very accommodating with special dietary requirements. Money is paid on a Monday and payment can be made in cash or a cheque made payable to Dumfries and Galloway Regional Council. You can also pay for longer periods, for example, monthly or per term.
Mrs Myatt now offers healthy snacks at break-times and can be purchased by children each day. We have a water cooler in school and children are asked to have a water bottle so that they can drink as and when they need.
Full details of all menus can be found on the School Meals section of the councils website, but essentially has been designed around healthy choices, representing a balanced diet. Children are able to choose from two main courses daily, as well as sandwiches or jacket potato. There is soup or a dessert each day, and salad is always available also.
